SINGING

A swinging jazzy trip around the world in Kalkan! Nicoline Snaas and Angelique van Hest, inspired by the unique surroundings, will guide you to sing the nicest lovesongs from all over the world. The "Lovesongs-repertoire" consists of popular folksongs, improvisations, jazzstandards and your own input: everybody is invited to bring their own favourite lovesong.

Teacher

Nicoline Snaas is jazz-singer and teacher. Ze has her own jazzcombo and manages her own women chorus (world music): 'Tell mama we're late'. During summerfestivals in Poland snd Slovenia Nicoline gave various singing workshops. Nicoline teaches vocal groups and individuals at Djam, institute for jazz and improvisation, in Amsterdam, and organises several workshops for Crea, Focusfestival, Academies of music and for business/trade/companies in The Netherlands. The combination of Nicolines' talents and experiences as a singer, performer, as well as a coach (open communication) creates a comfortable, safe and an intimate atmosphere which stimulate her participants to experiment freely with their qualities. It is an opportunity and an advance of joy working with her.

Workshop

Nicoline Snaas and Angelique van Hest organise many workshops together for students and business teams. Angelique van Hest, musical accompanist, will play the piano and/or drums (percussion). As a "golden" team they will focus -during the workshop- especially on the process of release in music. Singing of the world repertoir by part singing, solo singing and improvisations.
Nicoline works according to the method of Roy Hart, she will start the workshop with exercises to relax and sound research: "Stretchen" of body, voice and song. Afterwards you will start working on the songs: a capella or accompanied by music. The structure of the workshop is next to exploring the inspiring locations of Kalkan and its inhabitants your own voice!
