COOKING

Get a taste of the Turkish kitchen! Experience the variety of the Turkish dishes in two different restaurants. Both kitchens use only pure & fresh ingredients straight from their gardens, their vegetables, fruits and herbs are without any insecticides; the meat is from "free walking" animals. The choice of the tasteful dishes is determined by the season. The cooks will show the participants how they prepare the several delicious Turkish dishes. Nicole will guide you and translate all you need to know to prepare a tasteful result. The participants will prepare their lunch together and will finish the workshop by tasting the result during a jointly lunch.

Teacher

NICOLE HELLER, Nicole is born in Germany and lives during the last decade in Turkey. She speaks many languages fluently, like -besides German-, Turkish & English. She studied history of art in Germany. Nicole composes & presents lectures about the history of art and culture of Turkey. Her main hobby: Turkish kitchen. Nicole Heller, will -besides teaching/guiding- answer all your questions in relation to the Turkish kitchen and/or culture and she is happy to help you out in your communication with the Turkish cooks.

Locations

The 2 restaurants are located in the surrounding of Kalkan.
KURU restaurant, an intimate & cosy family restaurant, traditional kitchen: Fatma, the mother of the family, will invite you in her kitchen, in her friendly way she will show you her specific ways how to prepare tasteful & traditional dishes. Kuru, just outside Kalkan on the road to Kas, has a nice scenery at the Mediterranean Sea.
BODAMYA restaurant, defined Turkish dishes, is a beautiful restaurant -includes an authentic Turks sitting arrangement- has a modern & open kitchen. The famous cook will show you (almost) all his secrets, especially his meze dishes are well known. The restaurant -situated in the mountains (nice climate!)- has a lovely garden and an amazing view. They cultivate their own trout.
