ACTIVITIES

Several excursions, for example to the 3 important historical cities of the ancient Lycian civilisation:

Xanthos: former Capital city of the Lycians;
Lettoon: holy place with its temples dedicated to Leto, Artemis and Apollo;
Patara: main harbour of the lycian empire, now covered with sand dunes. You can stroll along the sites and have a stop at the Patara Beach, Turkey's longest sandy beach 18 km. A protected Nature resort, which protects the Carretta carretta turtles.

Visit the ancient site of Myra with its excavations, the antique theatre and the harbour of Myra. In Myra St. Nicolas had his diocese, the church of St. Nicolas is dated from the 5th century.

Close to Kalkan you will find the authentic village Bezirgan up in the Taurus mountains. It seems time stood still in this unique village with its unique houses and the Lycian rock graves. On the way back pass through Islamlar and have a delicious lunch in one of the trout farms up in the cool forest.
