Photography
PETRA VAN VLIET studied at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam. As freelancer she works on several accounts, like theatre, magazines, companies and private persons. Throughout the year Petra organises several photo workshops in the famous neighbourhood "Jordaan" in Amsterdam.
MIRJAM VAN DER LINDEN studied photography at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam.
She is specialised in portrait & illustrative photography. As a freelance photographer she works
for magazines & private persons and as a autonomous (art) photographer.
Both photographers enjoy sharing their knowledge of (the basis elements of) photography with everyone
who is interested in photography.
Ceramics
KARIN JARVINEN is able to pass her philosophic view of life in her special and pratical way. Since some years she inspires and advises her students in her extraordinary studio in Amsterdam. During her courses, Karin focus especially on the individuel wishes and capacities of her students and offers a lot of space for authenticity and development. Her ceramic art work is regularly exposed in Galleries and Museums.
VALENTINE VAN HERPEN Ceramic teacher and artist has the Dutch nationality. She attended the academy for art in The Netherlands. Meantime she has a working experience for over 35 years, of which the last 15 years in Kas, Turkey. During this period she became accustomed to teach many foreigners and local pupils. She likes to advice and guide you in fulfilling all your ceramic wishes. Valentine is a member of the Turkish international Artists association in Kas. She exposes her work on a regular basis.
Cooking
NICOLE HELLER German nationality, lives during the last decade in Turkey. She speaks Turkish & English fluently. She studied history of art in Germany. Nicole composes & presents lectures about the history of art and culture of Turkey. Her main hobby: Turkish kitchen. Nicole Heller, will -besides teaching/guiding- answer all your questions in relation to the Turkish kitchen and/or culture and she is happy to help you out in your communication with the Turkish cooks.
FATMA - family restaurant Kuru, mother & grandma, will invite you in her kitchen, in her friendly way she will show you her specific ways how to prepare the very tasteful & traditional local dishes. Together with her family she runs the restaurant. Meet the real Turkish hospitality.
AHMET - Restaurant Bodamya, a beautiful restaurant -includes an authentic Turks sitting arrangement- has a modern & open kitchen. The famous cook will show you (almost) all his secrets, especially his meze dishes are well known.
Painting
ANGELINE LIPS Dutch nationality, studied at the academy of art in Arnhem. She exposes her paintings on a regular basis in art galleries. She organises art expositions together with other artists. As a teacher Angeline is working at the Cultural Centre "de Lindenberg" at Nijmegen. In her own studio she gives painting courses to groups and individuals. Besides that she is occupied with painting sessions as a personal coach.
JOS VAN GESSEL Dutch nationality, studied drawing & painting at several Academies in The Netherlands, Nijmegen (1975-80) and Maastricht (1981-83). As a teacher he is working at three different institutions: cultural center in Nijmegen, Kreatieve Werkplaats in Arnhem and Nieuwe Akademie in Utrecht. Jos paints landscapes in a very personal & modern way. At his own studio he works on his impressions from several trips & travels, during the last years he is very much inspired by his visits to Russia. He pays a lot of attention to stimulate/develop the personal expression of the student.
TON BOGERS Dutch nationality, decided after finishing his study drawing at the academy to choose for the advertising branche. After several decades he became a teacher - with a lot of passion he worked as teacher till his retirement. Ton is living in Turkey and is specialised in portrait painting, in his own studio he offers -with a lot of enthousiasm- his painting courses.
Writing
MIREILLE GEUS studied Dutch Language. As a teacher she is working at the School for Writers: Schrijversvakschool at Amsterdam. Besides teaching she runs her own practice as a writing coach. She has various writing skills. For children she wrote about a dozen theatre plays and several books. For her books: "Virenzo" en ik" & "Big" she received important awards. She wrote several scripts for television shown in famous programs for children. For adults Mireille wrote a fifty minutes play for radio.
Theatre
BOB VAN DER LUGT manager Theaterschool (van de Stichting Kunstzinnige Vorming) in Rotterdam - The Netherlands. He is still possessed by theater. In 1986 he finished his study theatre in Amsterdam. He has made many theatre productions together with youngers & adults. Romeo and Julia, Greek Tragedies and everything in between. His performances are characterized by its vivid liveliness, the audience has no reason to be bored. Bob considers the authenticity of the actors as his keyword, because making theater starts with yourself.
OYA CAPELLE-KARISMAN changed around 30 years ago Istanbul for Amsterdam. She followed her heart and married her Dutch husband. She started at the age of 8 to play at "Ses en Dormen" tiyatrosu, in Istanbul. During her first years in Holland she played at Turkish theatercompanies, as soon as she spoke the Dutch language fluently she acts in several Dutch plays. The last 4 years she acted in the international play "de Gesluierde Monologen" by Adelheid Roosen. Oya has been and still is acting in many TV-series and movies in The Netherlands and Turkey.
